DPS and WIEP Privacy Policy
At the Delaware Photographic Society (DPS), and hence on the committee of the Wilmington
International Exhibition of Photography (WIEP), we take your privacy very seriously.
What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you apply to join DPS or register to enter WIEP. The information is collected via online forms that you complete and can maintain: your
personal profile, WIEP online entry form and DPS and WIEP site preferences. We also maintain an archive of WIEP exhibitor acceptances to manage the awarding of WIEP Distinctions.
If you apply to join DPS you will be asked to fill in an application form; our paper form and online form ask for the same information. You will be asked for your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and some background on your photographic experience and interests. If you apply using the paper form your online account will be created for you.
If you register onine to enter the WIEP you will be asked
to provide your name, email address, mailing address and details of your exhibition
entry; the same information we ask for on our paper entry forms. If you enter using the paper forms the data will be entered for you but you will not have an online account. There is a small charge for us doing the data entry for you as detailed on the paper form.
You may, however,
visit our sites anonymously with some restrictions on what you can access: DPS Public Site, WIEP Public Site.
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To personalize your experience
- To manage your DPS membership (if any)
- To send periodic emails about your DPS membership
- To administer the Wilmington International Exhibition of Photography
- To send you periodic emails about your entry to the exhibition
Note: The email address you provide will only be used to send you
information and updates pertaining to your DPS membership and/or WIEP entry. To stop receiving them contact us and ask to have your account disabled.
How do we protect your information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal
information when you place an order or access your personal information.
In particular if you opt to use online payment the transaction is handled
exclusively through our payment gateway provider PayPal. We will never ask you
directly for any bank or credit card information and will only store such
transaction details as are necessary for us to confirm payment of your entry
fees. All your detailed financial information is handled by PayPal and is
protected by their privacy policies.
Do we use cookies?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your
computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow it). They enable the
site to recognize your browser and capture and remember information from previous
visits.
We use cookies to help us remember you, to process your WIEP entry and to understand
and save your preferences for future visits.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally
identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist
us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long
as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release
your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law,
enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.
However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other
parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance
